These quantities are designed for lining a short wheel base VW T5/T6 van (including headlining).
4-Way Stretch Carpet
Our 4-way stretch carpet lining is the easiest campervan lining to work with and it's perfect for DIY conversions. It has always been our most popular carpet lining as it is pliable and stretchy allowing you to work around all the tricky corners and curves of your van such as the wheel arch and windows with the most ease.
Carpet info: Flame retardancy tested to FMVSS302. Approx 3-4mm thick. Material is 100% polypropylene fibre. Weight is 370gms./sq.m. + 5%.
High Temperature Carpet Adhesive
Extremely flexible glue with a high temperature resistance up to 90 degrees. We advise using 1 can per metre length of carpet.
Using this spray adhesive with our carpet is simple. Firstly ensure the surface to be bonded is clean, dry and contaminant free. Adjust the nozzle to give the required spray pattern and from a distance of approximately 25cm, spray one surface horizontally and the other vertically each to a minimum coverage of 80%. Allow the adhesive to become a touch dry. Press items firmly together from the centre working outwards to achieve a good contact and exclude any air bubbles.
Kiravans soundblocker 2mm
Sound Blocker is a 2mm thick, butyl rubber, active sound deadening mat with self adhesive backing. It reduces vibration and resonance in the large, flat metal panels of your van’s side walls. Sound Blocker ‘deadens’ the panels and gets rid of the ‘tinny’ road noise in the back of your van as you drive along.
This is the Kiravans version of the popular campervan soundproofing products offered by brands like StP, X-Trem, Vibrofiltr, Dynamat, Dodo Mat etc.

How much do I need?
Sound blocker will mostly benefit large flat panels with no folds or creases in them. It will not add much benefit to campervan floors, roofs or wheel arches as these all have ridges in them already to deaden any road vibration sound.
The 80/20 rule applies here, you get diminishing returns once you start applying the mat to areas beyond the flat panels. This stuff is heavy and additional weight in your van means extra fuel, more brake wear and reduced handling.
Will it fit behind a door store?
Yes. There is space for 2 sheets behind it in the sliding door. It is very easy to apply and does not obstruct the Door Store. Sound Blocker behind the Door Store will really help reduce the noise from the sliding door. Heres some tips for the Door Store:
- Cut and apply such that it only sticks to the flat areas of the van door.
- Do not apply to the brackets or any raised pieces of metal as this will prevent the Door Store fitting properly.
- Ensure that the cable in the top void is not trapped under the Sound Blocker - leave it free to move.
