Manufactured in France by Scopema, the RIB swivel plate for campervans gets lots of praise on the various forums. In our own experience, we have found these seat swivels to be very robust and rattle-free.
The offset feature of this particular swivel means that the pivot point is offset from the centre by a few centimetres towards the handbrake side of their seat. This means that the seat finishes up facing backwards a bit further from the door. The main advantage is that seats with armrests will spin around more easily. If you have a double seat swivel on the passenger side you should choose the non-offset version, otherwise, there won't be enough room for both seats to swivel backwards.
To rotate the seat, the engine must be turned off, vehicle put in gear and the handbrake released temporarily. Once the seat is facing the rear re-engage handbrake. For seats fitted with up/down height adjustment, you will find that you probably need to pump up the seat height to allow the seat to rotate without the grey plastic trim around the base catching on anything. T5 only - If you have a plastic handbrake cover then you may have to remove it and replace with our fabric slip-on cover.
Notes on fitting:
Please note on some vans it appears that the plastic handbrake covering rubs on the swivel and may need to be removed.
- Swivel plate fits between the base and seat slider rails on normal seats
- Automatically locks in place facing forward for driving
- Pivot point is located offset from the centre so seats with armrests spin better
- European TUV safety approval
- Compatible with the VW T5 / T6 & Caravelle
- Compatible with heated seats and airbags (wires can pass through the centre)
- Not compatible with double swivels (please choose non-offset)
- Seat height increase: Approx 43mm
- Safety: European TUV safety approval
- Swivel plate
- Raising shims
- Bolts to fit standard seat boxes

Many of our EU customers have been ordering from Kiravans for years. But then Brexit happened and delivering from the UK to the EU got very messy.
The good news is that we have it sorted!
You can now purchase Kiravans campervan parts from our 2 new websites - www.kiravans.com (retail) & www.kiravans-trade.com (trade). Orders placed on these websites are fulfilled from our warehouse in the Netherlands so there are no import duties or tariffs.
Our product range is very limited at the moment but every week we are shipping stock over to our new warehouse.
Kiravans started life in 2005 as ‘Freedom Campervans’, renting out campervans in Scotland. We, Rob and Mike McCandless (brothers) combined our love of outdoor adventure with skills in Engineering and Operations Management to build a successful campervan rental company.

Gradually we got into building our own vans to add to the fleet. Pretty soon we discovered just how difficult it was to source decent campervan parts quickly and easily. We experienced the frustration of trying to find reliable suppliers, who were open about pricing and easy to deal with. The conversion parts market in the UK seemed to be a closed shop with guarded secrets and over-priced, dated looking stock.

This really got us thinking. Nobody was doing this properly for the internet age, nobody was making it easy to build a campervan! So, we embarked on a mission to simplify, de-mystify and reduce the cost of building a campervan.
From a humble shipping container full of after-market van windows to selling tens of thousands of our unique ‘Double Seat Swivel’, Kiravans has demonstrated remarkable growth to become the multi million pound enterprise it is today.

Well...not much has changed!
Sure, we have a bigger team, a load more products and a few more websites (www.kiravans.co.uk, www.kiravans.com, www.kiravans-trade.co.uk) & www.kiravans-trade.com) and rather than sell out the back of a beat up old shipping container we now use a 3rd party fulfilment house that takes good care of our warehousing and despatching our orders...but we really do like to keep things as simple and as straightforward as we possibly can.
The Kiravans warehouse today
We’re not complicated...we’re not glory seekers...we really just want to offer the best products and the best advice and services we possibly can. All we want is for our customers to be happy...because without you...there is no us.
For us, it’s not a case of just shifting products...our entire mission is to share both our products and conversion knowledge - a problem halved is a problem solved!
Because of the hurdles we faced back in the beginning, we are extremely passionate and motivated about sharing what we know...and how we deliver our knowledge really matters to us. That’s why we broke the rules and created a business that not only sells products we highly recommend, but also provides the installation information and a series of Kiravans ‘How to’ videos thrown in. We have a dedicated YouTube channel where we upload our videos, which is full of little surprises and big delights so you can ‘watch and go’.
What’s in store…
...to keep doing what we’re doing. To continue to look out for new products, new suppliers, new manufacturers, new opportunities, create and innovate, to share our knowledge and to constantly improve and evolve the business to meet the needs of our customers. That’s it! People buy from people and that’s the way we conduct our business. Our customer reviews really do say it all and we’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved to date.
We’re extremely grateful, along with everyone else at Team Kiravans, to everyone who has supported us on our journey and look forward to plenty more years to come!
